![]() Well.yeah, the thing is cake with various weapon mods that would be very difficult to master before you reach that boss.and runes that I don't think are even available before that level. Also, runes were set for bonus life, extra usefullness equipment and extra mobility while jumping. Originally posted by SunTV:Last time I took him down quick on ultra-violence without any HUD and no crosshairs ) but with micromissiles, double shotgun with full upgrade and grenades. So I never remember it being something that was all that difficult, or at least an enemy that required all that much thought to take out. The original was just a huge enemy that could take a ton of ammo to bring down. From what I remember, you almost always faced one in a wide open space.and crowds didn't matter either way because of the infighing (if you ran away from it, it just cleared out all other enemies for you, which was kind of a favor).I know there were a few times where it was meant as a trap.the level 'tricks and traps' for example you weren't supposed to remain in the room with like 15 barons and a cyberdemon, only to stir them up and close the door when you leave haha. ![]() Some players may crush it immediately, but I would be surprised if they struggled against a cyberdemon in Doom 2 to begin with. Results may vary first time around, though. It's not that the new one is 'easy'.it's that its a 'boss', with it's own kind of scripting or w/e built in to be a one on one confrontation with a lot of mechanics you need to learn in order to beat it.Īnd that is kind of the thing: it's REALLY easy once you know exactly what to do. I'm more upset with the crashing, errors and stuff just not working properly in this game.Ĭomparing the original cyberdemon to this isn't exactly fair. I think the developers did a good job with the game balance/fights, but I only played on "Hurt me plenty". Doom is fairly generous with it's ammo and health drops though, so ammo conservation isn't exactly a priority in this game. I thought the first half was brutally unfair for the Cyber Demon, it's the second half of the fight where he killed me several times. If I remember right I just went to down with the rocket launcher on him for most of the fight. I'd argue that the first half was easy enough, that the extra fire powered isn't needed. Well, given that one does not know that there is to be a second half, what incentive would there be to save one's most powerful ammo during the difficult "first half"? With all due respect, I think this is a terrible thing to do to the player and the creators should have had more common sense. Pound him with the rocket launcher while he's stunned to get some health drops. When he raises the walls, hit him with the bfg.
